Well, the stuff I used for this pictures (60-250 and two close up lenses) works great but can't be labeled as "proper" macro gear. I think that much more than the lens, it's important to have a good set: a clean, dry and very cold piece of glass to be used to capture snow, and a place on the outside but with a roof where to photograph in sub-zero temperature.
