thought the level of technicality was actually a bit on the simplistic side for the dpreview audience, so given the other responses, that almost certainly means that you hit the sweet spot dead center.

That is what I try to do. At least in my philosophy I try to cover (understand) technical details just as much as it helps my photography. Too bad one often needs to dig deeper. I want to spend my main energy on taking and making photos. Very scientific explanations hardly help me with that.

The main technical tool you need to learn/trust the most are your eyes. Also it is always good to experiment and learn something.
