I have a D700 & now a D7000

I just purchased a D7000 as a back up to my D700. The very positive reviews, the high ISO ability, the fact that it is a reasonably small camera all combined to pursuade me to get it as a long lens crop camera as a back up for my D700.

Having only just been fiddling with it for about an hour or so, I have been quite impressed with it. So far the IQ that looks excellent for an APS C camera, focuses fast and accurately and I like the solid build quality. I am not so happy that it has a different placement for some of the functions compared to the D700, as this means getting confused when swapping from D700 to D7000 and back, but I'll get over it, I hope.

Here are a few quick pics that I took just to try it out. Nothing particularly special, just more of an experiment.

D7000 + AFS300mm f2.8 VRII, f8, 1/200, ISO 1000, Handheld.

Here is a crop. I didn't even notice the little bug under the flower until I looked at it on the computer!

D7000 + 70-200mm f2.8 VRII @ 200mm f10, 1/100, ISO 1000, Handheld.

D7000 + 70-200mm f2.8 VRII @ 116mm f7.1, 1/100, ISO 500, Handheld.
