dropped my L1 :(

Dropped the FZ35 with a LT55 attached and the lens came out of the LT55 it hit so hard...the LT55 was the sacrificial lamb for the FZ35 though...good lesson always lock the camera on the Tripod so you don't inadvertently release it...

Glad shes OK Jim...did it look any better after the beer?
I've never had one fall off of a tripod, but on my Benbo Trekker I had the centre post unlocked and the camera swung around and the lens hit the leg. Tripod and lens survived.

Everything looks better after beer, I don't want to even think about some morning afters from my single life.

If it had to happen it looks like it hit just exactly right. That corner contact probably radiated the shock wave throughout the entire frame, absorbing it and saving the lens and electronics. Close call!

Bill, it was too close for comfort. I am not the sort to baby my gear either, but still the feeling is awful.

Very sturdy, indeed - not even a sign of bending above the 'drop mark' - I take it that little door still opens OK, or you'd have mentioned it!

Good luck!

You could fill that little dent with some epoxy paste + a bit of black paint &, "good as new".

Yes, the door which is just rubber didn't even open from the impact. I opened it and peeped inside and there is no deforming of the metal.

A cosmetic repair would be easy enough.
