A great lanscape photo should...

...tell the story - from foreground to the horizon. It should lead you on a virtual journey, making you wishing to be there, at the same time and place. It should be almost three-dimensional, and transmit not just a view, but the entire palette of senses of the place- wind, aroma of the flowers, sound of crashing ocean waves - everything. Technical details, like composition, light, color, dynamic range, DOF, etc. - are also very important for a successful landscape, but I saw (and created) enough technically great photos which tell NOTHING to a viewer.
