There is no subjective evaluation of artistic worth or novelty. You need some minimal (huge emphasis on minimal) degree of creativity for copyright. You need to have independently created the work (that is, you didn't copy it) and you need to fix it in tangible form (which obviously you do once you type it). That's it. It's s.t. to copyright. Whether every element of a particular work is protected is a separate issue.
