Re: Fujifilm reveals more details of X100 large-sensor compact

While the other large camera manufacturers seem more and more interested in producing cameras for the far ends of the user spectrum, Fuji appears ready to take a bold step away from the pack and attempt to meet the needs of those serious-but-ignored photography enthusiasts at the middle of the range. And that's a very positive development, indeed.

My only regret is the X100's fixed focal length lens. I've been hoping and praying to the gear gods that the successor to the Canon G12 will have a larger sensor and a 24-240 mm (equivalent) zoom. The Fuji X100 has the larger sensor, but not the considerable zoom (or the folding, articulated LCD screen). If it were to show up at market with these features, it would be my dream camera and I would be the first in line to purchase one. I suspect many of my peers would be close behind.
