Nikon 18-200 vs new Tamron 18-270
I have a D7000 under tree for Christmas. There is also a Nikon 18-200 under there. It seems to be the standard recommendation for a “do it all” lens. And I want a “do it all” lens and I am willing to make the sacrifices required to only carry one lens. I have been reading about the new Tamron 18-270. It seems to be well liked and I like the idea of having a little more range. Price, in $1000 range, not really an issue but don’t tell my wife I said that. Slow auto focus seems to be a common complaint. Not sure if that will be an issue for me or not. All the other lens I own are Nikon. Does anybody have experience with this lens or Tamron in general? Or other recommendations for a “do it all” lens?
Chance favors the prepared mind.
