I have just purchased a Canon 7d and would like to try making a couple of simple video's. I do not want to become the next Spielburg though. All I would like to do is add a title, edit a few clips, possibly lighten/darken the clips and then add a couple of credits at the end and post on Smuggers/vimeo/youtube

At the moment I am in the process of upgrading my pc to a quad core, 8gb ram etc. It is also time to replace my aging Photoshop CS2

Would CS5 extended fulfill my needs or is it too complicated, a friend has i-movie on their mac which seems to be the level I want, but obviously cannot be loaded on a pc

Any help or advice gratefully received

IMO if I were you and wanted to do some video I would just get standard Photoshop CS5 and with the money saved from not buying Photoshop CS5 Extended spend $70 of it on http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/

Features I did not see any exposure features listed try it out.

I do not do video some day I may try some with my Canon 1D Mark IV. So far I just tried may cameras video feature for a few samples they the were good as far as exposure went and the sound was surprisingly good with the Cameras built in mike. Before I retired I had to do some video at work using a Canon XGL1 Digital 3ccd Camcorder I always uses a remote wireless mike for the on camera mike just could not Hack it. One notices bad audio before poor image quality. Creating good video is not easy and to fo full HD you need a capable Computer.

go to http://www.magix.com and try the free trial for the video software. I've used these for years to make dvd's of pictures combined with video clips from my T1i. I used the Pro version. You can add beginning and ending pages, text, transitions and do corrections on the photos and video clips. I like it very much.
