Longer lens is better in blurring out the background

This is kind of an odd question I know, but I'm very much searching for a great glass in the 80-135mm focal length equivalent. For DOF and low light purposes I'm searching only in the f/2.0 and quicker aperture range.

It is far more effective to blur out the background by compression via a lens with longer fl (70mm or longer) than seeking similar or even shorter lens simply because they can be opened to f1.2 or lower. However, the major issues with longer lenses are camera shake and working distance.
