Re: Tough Camera for a 5 year old

I love this thread. Listen to my tale if you would:

When our daughters were 7 and 5 we gutted our bank ballence and bough them each what were then pretty expensive (approx. £240 each) White Casio S-500 cameras for Christmas. We also bought, all the way from Japan, fine white leather neck straps at £30 each. They looked fabulous.

On the day the girls couldn't believe their eyes. They were over the moon with their precious prizes, and from that moment the cameras have been cherished, worn and used, through many an outing.

Now they are 17 and 15. We have 60,000 photos to look back on, of friends coming round, parties, trips away, school events. All thes taken by girls who were only too proud to be seen with their still beautiful cameras.

My eldest is now studying to become a photographer.

You cannot spend too much on your daughters camera - believe me.
