Hello all, I just got my D700 back from Nikon repair for some dust that was trapped behind the pentaprism and I have to say, I'm not impressed. They left a tooling mark on the diopter dial and scratched up the LCD screen protector (at least that can be replaced). Anyways, I had a question concerning the viewfinder shutter. Have a look at the following picture:
This is a picture of the viewfinder with the protective cover taken off and the viewfinder shutter open. You see how there's that silver metal part poking out on the lower right? That metal part will retract back into the body when the shutter is closed, but pokes out like that when it's open. I was wondering if someone can check if this is typical on a D700 because I don't ever remembering seeing that metal part sticking out before.
