Long lens for wedding photography

Opinions please.

I have a D700. Currently, the two lenses I use for my wedding photographer are the 50mm 1.4 and the Tamron 28-75 (I'd obviously rather have the Nikon 24-70 but there you have it). I reallly feel the need to get a longer lens and obviously would love to get the 70-200 VRII but cannot at this time.

Meanwhile, I'm also considering whether to shift to using primes, like the Nikon 180 f2.8 or Sigma 150 f2.8 - or whether I should get a used 80-200 while I'm waiting for the 70-200. Low light performance (church and reception is important) and I'm also concerned about AF speed. It doesn't need to be lightning quick or anything but I'm not up for hunting.

Any thoughts would be appreciated by anyone who has experienced any of the above lenses under the aforementioned conditions.

Thanks very much in advance.

Bard.
