Canon Pro9000 Printing on Canvas

Has anyone tried to print on Canvas with the Canon Pro9000? I want to print a picture and make a canvas wrap around a frame. I went to a local art supply store and purchased an artist's canvas that is stretched over a wooden frame. I carefully removed the canvas and tried to print to my printer. I made test prints with the material but no matter what setting I tried, the output was not of good quality. I noticed while I was at the art store that they sell canvas paper. It looks like canvas but I don't think I can wrap it around a frame. Would that be a better alternative to ordinary canvas? Anyone have any ideas. Can you suggest settings for the printer or a source of canvas that will provide a good print?
