I use Getty - should my friend?

Hi,

I use Getty to sell my images - I know they take a massive cut, but I don't really have the time, energy or skills to market my images independently.

A friend of mine has just come back from a trip round Africa (lucky, so-and-so), and has some really nice images. He's interested in seeing if he can make some money from them, and asked if I'd recommend Getty.

The images are taken with his Leica film camera (like I said - lucky so-and-so), which I'm sure will easily scan well enough to meet Getty's standards, but I'm wondering if Getty is good for selling travel photos (as i've never tried myself), or if there are other, better, specialised sites.

His photos are good stuff - portraits, close-ups of interesting objects, buildings, signs, etc. It's not the usual landscape/wildlife stuff that I know Getty isn't too keen on. I'd say he has a good few hundred very nice ones, with about 100 really standing out.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
