All I can say is, nice camera, but the touch screen to shoot thing is the last thing you should put on a camera geared more toward enthusiasts than beginners. Tapping a screen with your finger just seems like a great way to introduce camera shake into your shots.
Can someone fill me in on any benefits of such a system? Yes I'm aware the shutter can be released normally. I just can't think of any situations where touching the screen would be preferrable.
