How do you turn off the rear screen status every time I turn on the camera? I just want the screen to stay black and not display aperture/shutter etc....

Anyone know?

I can't figure it out..

It should be a memory setting for the info display in the main menu. Then press the info button.

This does not work for my K-x...

In set-up 1, I select Off in Guide display, but the screen still lights up when I turn on the camera ! (p. 248 on my K-x manual).

The question was related to Info dislay rather than Guide display. The second one can just be permanently turned off. Cheers,
