SSD for Archival backup

I have a routine I use for archival backup that involves my desktop computer's hard drive, a notebook and its hard drive then each of those computers has backup drives and each camera gets it's photos backed up on archival quality cd's which are now too small so everything goes on archival quality DVD's. I'm about to switch my shooting from jpeg to jpeg+raw so my memory and backups will be twice as big and DVD's just wont do any longer for archival purposes. I'm considering two options...Blue Ray and SSD. There's a good deal of info in these threads on BR but very, very little on SSD's for archival backup. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this route? I'd make the SSD removable and store it in a safe. It may initially be more expensive than BR but over the years it may pay off and no moving parts.

Thanks for you input.
