A bit under the weather with a cruddy cold but was blessed to finally see a Sandhill Crane in MA (fairly rare up here in Massachusetts) very close to home and was able to create a handful of decent images.

All images posted are with a D300s, 600VR both with and without a TC14EII.

All EXIF date should be attached to the images.

Super shots Jim. Thanks for posting them. Hope your cold clears up quickly.

Fabulous as always, but this sure is something unusual for Massachusetts!

Absolutely wonderful Jim, love them all but there is just something extra special about number 4. Hope your cold clears up soon, jen

The 3rd interesting great capture more from the ornithology side I’d say. The wb seems evaded here a bit.

The 1st, 2nd beautifully captured images (at some distance..). The ground images the same.. I’d expect (guess) 1 mm - a hair bit - lower on the last (w/o seeing the scene) - one is better than the other for me, glad I don’t have to choose from them (whole distinct expression of each one).

The last one draws my attention over and over despite brain saying all are in the equal.. something to do w/ the atmosphere, it wouldn’t be just me I suspect :-)
-perfect bokeh really is Part of the images.

Thanks for sharing,

Best,

Hynek

Very crisp, clean flight shots. Love the colours and composition of the 4th shot. Really well done and glad you got some unusual visitors :) Thanks for posting.
