Madecov, how does the AF compare to against the A700? I'm talking in terms of speed (screw drive and in-lens motor), and also low light. I love the low light focusing of the A700, and I'm wondering if the D7000 is similar. Also, the A700's screw drive motor is pretty strong. How does the D7000 compare with a screw driven lenses?

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Currently, I only have the 18-105 kit lens, tomorrow I will have at least one screw drive lens.

Focus is fast. I think the low light AF is superior. I'm just starting to learn all the different focus modes. The D-7000 has numerous options compared to the A-700 three options. Overall it is a considerably more advanced camera. It will take some time to get used to the interface. I do miss the Sony quick nav feature, the D7000 while having numerous hard buttons is still slightly more menu driven and the menu isn't as nice.

In god we trust, all others are suspects
