You are looking at this all wrong

Liveview is a nice feature.

But like any nice feature your DSLR has most people will not use it most of the time.

The fact that 13% said they use it "more than half the time, most of the time, or almost all of the time" is pretty significant.

For example, my E30 has a tilt and swivel screen.
I probably use this around once a month, but when I need it it is a lifesaver.
So I will demand this feature on my next DSLR.

But if you polled me I would answer that I use the tilt screen "occasionally" or "very rarely"... certainly a LOT LESS than "50% of the time."

Think about all the other features your DSLR has that we use much less than that. Which ones would you give up?
Which ones would you insist on having on your next DSLR?

  • video ability

  • mirror lock up

  • DOF preview

  • pixel mapping

  • tilt and swivel LCD

  • remote control

  • AF micro adjust

  • weather sealing

  • built in flash

  • 1/8000 second shutter speed

  • 5 fps burst ability

We probably could list a dozen more things we use LESS than 50% of the time, but that we demand on our next DSLR.

And Liveview is one of these things.
