IMHO there's no excuse for changing ANY bits in the image in ANY way when you're just changing metadata. It's a sloppy, sloppy thing to do and speaks very poorly of the implementation.

I'm 100% on malch's side here - after hearing this I wouldn't go near this software with a 10 foot pole.
