I own white lenses .. I'd agree with you.

Main thing was -- I was trying to suggest a portrait option for the Op to give better bokeh and shallow dof with his crop. Though 135 is long for a crop inside, outside shooting should give some good shallow dof at f2

that said, if he is just getting started with crop, your recommendation is best

but for me... ah FF makes more sense to me for this type of shooting.

5dii with 70-200 f2.8 IS II -- great stuff at f2.8 (1 face) and f4 (2 faces)

Yes, I've heard the rumor but it was started by photographers who have incurable insecurities about taking photographs in public places.

No, the act of raising the camera to the eye draws attention, not the lens. Your suggested lens combo is 1/4" fatter, the other is 1/2" longer, not going to make a whit of difference. It's more about how you carry your own self as you go about photographing.
