First E-5 Review

Looking at the DR charts, I remain unconvinced that "the new tone curve" is the right way to go - dynamic range at ISO 100 has actually been lost, and the shadows appear to be a little noisier at ISO 200 too. Thank goodness for the new ability (since the E-30) to set a permanent exposure shift!

The E-5 clearly wins at high ISO though, and the resolution is astounding - it looks like there isn't any AA filter at all (it even beats the previous champion the E-PL1 here).

This is all on a pre-production camera (firmware 0.8), so one can only imagine the production cameras will be better still.
