It's only the comparison with the E-3 that makes sense

Comparing with D7000/60D is irrelevant, they're lesser robust (60D is a plastic fantastic though), and they don't take the users' portfoilio of Zuiko Digital lenses.

How much better is the E-5 over the E-3 is a more relevant question.

Image quality and Autofocus performance are the two single most important factors for this new camera. Regarding the IQ, the colour clarity is remarkably good even up to its top ISO settings. So the next question is about the AF.
