I ask myself the opposite question. Why do people like the 50mm equivalent? The angle of view is so constricting for interior shots and even street shots. I find 35mm to be more natural and useful. But hey, that's just me (well...and apparently Fuji too).

The only reason i like 50mm is because i like the cheap super-fast apertures and playing with that, but i rarely enjoy the actual angle. Now 35mm, that is a prime i can work with.
