Re: Looks good but...

f/1.7 is a third of a stop faster than f/2. Although the Panasonic 20mm does have quite a bit of falloff at f/1.7, so using it wide open wouldn't be advisable under all shooting conditions.

On the other hand, a GF1/EPL1 with high-quality 20mm/1.7 pancake has a way faster lens. Plus lens options of course.

I agree, if it was wider and had a little zoom or interchangeable lens that would be a very agreeable feature.

However, 35mm isn't too shabby - crop a little and you can easily get a "normal" perspective considering its 12 MP sensor.

And the fixed focal of 35mm is gammy. It's not a good walkaround "normal" focal length, and it's not a good landscape focal length. That's why Sigma have two fixed focals to cater for different shooters. It has a 28mm (DP1) for dedicated landscapers and a 41mm more normal focal length for street photographers. The Fuji is sort of stuck in the middle and is neither here nor there.

Also I can add other versatile glass that are just as small as my 30mm pancake. Samsung will have a 16mm f2.8 pancake....that's 24mm wide angle. The fuji is neither here nor there at 35mm. It's not a great walkaround focal length and it's not a great wide angle landscape focal length.
