So I've had the XSi for quite a while, haven't been really doing much with it.

Had the EF 28-105 F3.5-4.5 and 50 F1.8 (Aheem.... didn't really do much research and didn't even know what a cropped body was lol... really bad decisions)

Anyways... Now I've got some "proper" lens. Sigma 30 F1.4 and Sigma 17-50 F2.8. So I'd like to show you what I did last weekend :D Let me know what you think

On a side note, I did notice the Sigmas produces stunning picture but QC could be better, some of the pics were overexposed (searched around might be a defect), focus are not always accurate. HOWEVER, I'm really satisfied with what I'm having now :D

Nice. Two thumbs up for each (except the last pic of the car in the lot - eh).

? Focus and exposure problems are not apparent in the pics you posted. But they're all from the 17-50/2.8. Any from the 30/1.4?

Really nice pictures. I am not sure I follow you when you say really bad decisions. If you had it to do over now that you know more what would you do?

I took a course in art last winter. I learnt the difference between a fine oil painting, and a mechanical thing, like a photograph. The photograph shows only the reality. The painting shows not only the reality, but the dream behind it.

This one is really poor compared to the others. I don't know if there is any part of it that is in focus but I think not. Maybe it would help to stop down the lens somewhat but even at f 2.8 I would expect there to be something sharp in the picture. Wonder if it was user error, or someone forgot to turn on the AF switch...?

Thanks! I mean, I never know what the difference between EF and EF-S lens were when I went out and bought the lenses, neither did I know why I never was able to produce any wide angle pictures of any sort lol. Well anyway I guess it's down to personal preferences, 28-105 is not really useful on a copped body IMO, on a FF, it might be same as what I'm having now, but yea, I always find it really weird to take pictures with the 28-105. All shots that I've taken with that lens seems all to be snapshots, rather than "photographs". The 50mm on the other hand might be yes, cheap and reliable, but I have to stand very far out very often to take my shots lol. So I guess... idk, I'm trading those in for these Sigma bad boys, but it's worth it.

I'd say........ 80% is the lens' error. I know it's really weird, I was pointing the top left AF point to the writings. I took the shot after the AF confirmed. I'll try to explore more with this lens, but I've read a lot about Sigmas mis-focusing and overexposing, maybe I'm just paranoid.
