Adjusting wide open lens aperture
1. Ai 24/2.8, 35/1.4, 85/2, 300/4.5 etc.
2. I shoot mainly with F3 & F5. I have an F4 too but it's film advance is broken and it's not worth to fix it. F3 & F4 have mechanical stop down lever, while F5 has electronic and they all exhibit same behaviour.
3. Mechanically the lens looks ok.
Here's an image of the issue I'm wondering about:
The lens is set to f1.4 and when stopping down the apertures stick out a bit, altough I think they're supposed to stay hidden.. since it's wide open. Of course this may be intentional design decision, I'm merely curious.
This may not be the best forum to ask this kind of stuff, but I thought I'd give it a shot since there was a 3-page thread about lens helicoid lubricants too among other things
Thanks in advance for any help / information!
