My £1 OVF

Hi All

I have been wondering whether to get a viewfinder for my DP1s for a while. I really couldn't justify the high prices to find out whether I would use it or not, so took it upon myself to make my own!

Now, before you see the photos I will warn you it's not pretty!

I bought a disposable camera from ebay and disassembled it. The viewfinder part was sort of in a moulding of its own. I removed it, cut a few bits off and super glued it to a spare hot shoe cover I had. That's it, project OVF complete. The field of view is not as wide as 28mm, but the main thing is, the centre is spot on. I did it yesterday, so haven't had time to try it out and make my decision on whether I will use it full time.

Anyway, here are the pics:

Roughly what I see and what is captured

Well, I will keep you posted as to whether I will buy the real thing in the future.

Thanks for looking
