Picture Style Tweaked for Outdoors
I'm at a loss to explain the discrepancy myself. I'm still wondering if this phenomenon is unique to my camera or the XSi/450D. The camera seems to be less responsive to Green tone tweaks created by the Picture Style Editor than DPP even though the same RAW shot and Picture Style file are used. The response to Green tone adjustments is noticibly weaker than red and blue with my 450D, so it's been a real challenge to get more vibrant greens for landscape shots.
Here is an example of the difference between applying the picture style in post in DPP and in-camera.
A shot applying a tweaked picture style in post in DPP.
The same picture style applied in camera.
I have therefore significantly pushed the green saturation to give the right green response in camera, which results in greens being oversaturated when applied in post in DPP.
