Canon. From leader to follower ...

Lots of emotions about the 60D in this form, mostly about 'missing features'. Well, this camera will still sell well probably.

But you know what is really a bit worrying? Canon was one of the leaders of the pack (if not THE leader ...) when digital photography took off. They introduced the first DSLR's that could be handled by a normal person, they introduced DSLR to the consumers.

But when they introduced the 7D they started te become the follower. They followed Nikon with their very succesful D300, which had created a new market niche. And now again the 60D is just a model to plug the hole in the market niche between Rebels and 7D. Where is the innovation that has been the trademark of Canon for so long?

It seems that others have taken over the innovative action (Sony). I am curious what others will bring to the table in the coming weeks ...
