If the goal is a body that accepts interchangeable lenses, this is probably close. Can a digital camera with a good quality non-interchangeable prime be built smaller than a Sigma DP-1/2? I've not seen that camera in a side by side comparison to a Pen and I know the sensor is a little bigger on the Sigma. Compacts that use 35mm film have been made very, very small, like the Olympus Stylus Epic and I've owned better built models like the Konica Hexar AF with a faster prime than the Stylus Epic that is bigger than the Pen.

Even if they could make them smaller, I'm not sure I'd be interested in anything smaller.
