consumer protection laws ??

If it hapened in the UK you would have a reasonable case (depending on why it broke and how much use it has had ) for taking it back to the vendor and telling them it is (was ) not fit for purpose........under Uk consumer rights laws "Things should be fit for purpose and be expected to last a REASONABLE length of time"

The Question IS what is a REASONABLE length of time ???

A camera of that sort of price SHOULD last a lot longer than 3 years assuming you hadnt done anything to damage the camera during its 3 years (IE droping it ).......

warantys and guarantees are a system used by retailors and manufacturers to con you out of your consumer rights
