My cousin is visiting Europe and will be at Photokina.

Right now materials are being stored and word is getting around pretty fast.

He basically was told to think of the new D90 as a "Nikon version of the Sony Alpha 550 ala Nikon"

14.2 megapixel resolution

ISO 12800

More responsive Live View

Just as responsive in Quick Auto Focus Live View

Manual Focus Check Live View

Enhanced Quick AF Live View shooting with Face Detection technology

Quick AF Live View enhancement, Smile Shutter™ technology automatically takes the shot when your subject smiles.

Tiltable 3.0" LCD

Up to 7 fps of continuous shooting

Dynamic Range Optimizer

Tele-converter 2x Digital Zoom

For maximum speed, Eye-Start Autofocus begins focusing as soon as you raise the camera to your eye.

HDMI™ output for HD viewing

Increased focus and metering capabilities

There I do believe you have's more of an evolution than a revolution.

Apparently...the D700s will get the D300s treatment as will the D3Xs.

Something mirror less as a "midrange camera".

Something that's 24x zoom.

The D700s will be first,,,maybe Photokina...then the D3Xs and then the D90s.
