I like the idea of being able to finely adjust the AF right before taking photo. Is there any reason not to keep it on DMF all the time when you are using an AF lens?

Yeah, that's annoying when it has to lock focus first before it'll let you try. Aside from that, though, it has come in handy and it works well.i also use DMF, i only hate it when it isn;t able to get a fix on a closely placed object and then it refuses me to give the control.
I don't think that's continuous AF, it's "keep your live view somewhat in focus". You can select Continuous AF somewhere, I think.... But turn it off, and it'll still try to keep the live view from being a complete blur.I don't know about any disadvantage of having it on DMF, which is what I do, but I wish there was an option to disable continuous AF, as it un-necessarily eats battery. Or have I missed it?
This!DMF + Flexible Spot = Sexy Time
Same thing here. Why the hell can't we focus manually when the camera can't focus.i also use DMF, i only hate it when it isn;t able to get a fix on a closely placed object and then it refuses me to give the control.
Seems like I read this about every other post. So many little freebie things Sony could have done to make the camera more usable. I wonder if the A55 has this same set-up with focus and other NEX-like firmware surprises.I just hope Sony will fix that in the next firmware update.
