Much more info needed

Like other people say as well.
We need more info about what you got now and the conditions you are shooting in.

What camera + long lens do you have now. Does it limit you (focal length, max aperture, focusing speed). Do you shoot on a full size football field, how's the lighting, at what time do you shoot, etc.

We could help you better if you provide us with more info.

Hi guys. I'm a little overwhelmed by the universe of options out there, so I thought I'd call upon the wisdom and kindness of you guys for some quick advice.

What's a good bright zoom lens for use for occasional (mostly) outdoor sports photography? Looking for at least 200m (which I would extend with a 1.4 extender). Questions:

1) Not sure if I need IS or not.
2) Not sure if I can get by with a 4.0 lens or need 2.8.

3) Not sure if a Canon L lens is worth the price or is a Sigma or Tamron would suffice.

Tips?

Thanks!
