Does the D700 show an over-exposure warning in the viewfinder? I have not as yet seen that message @ the higher ISO's???

Yes, all Nikon cameras I've used which have a manual mode also have an (over)exposure display. Look at pages 10-11 of the D700 manual.

What number is it on page 11? I don't see it.

I think the only way to see OVER exposure is with the "blinkies" during playback, or on the little meter in the viewfinder in "manual" exposure mode.

Terrance is correct, over exposure is displayed in the control panel or the viewfinder, it is on page 123 of the manual, also if the camera is unable to achieve optimal exposure HI or LO will be displayed

This thread topic subject for this post should be "over-exposure warning" not "D700 question".

I just wasted my time opening this thread to find out I'm not interested in this topic.
