It is possible to copy the EXIF date to the image in post processing. One way to do this is using BreezeBrowser from http://www.breezesys.com/ . See the watermarking function.

Thanks for your reply EG i will tell him to try that one out,
As i understand it is not possible to just put the date there true the camera.
Thanks very much for your reply.

Varik,

Exif data is included in the original picture (raw or jpeg) and if you need to put it on (together with copyright mark) - just use suitable automatic watermark option, size, color, place from BreezeBrowser (tools/proof/watermark) or use any photoediting software to do that manually.
It is not necessary to place Exif data permanently on the image and spoil it.

Hi charles,

Sorry for the late reply, and at least someone who understoud !!!
It was a friend of mine who asked and needed this for his job.
and indeed we found out, like you said that the s40 is not cappable
of doing this ....
strange .. but thanks for your reply

I've seen this request a few times, and I have to admit I always wonder "why would someone want to do that?". I understand why 35mm cameras do it - they have to put the date on the print since there is no other way to store data. But even APS did it better, storing the time and date magnetically and printing it on the back of the prints.

Printing the date on the front of a print seems unnecessary since it is in the EXIF data if you need to reference it, and avoids cluttering the image with distracting and mostly irrelevant data.

Why do you want to print the date on your images?
