Hot Swap with WIn 7
How to set up Win 7 install to facilitate hot swapping of SATA hard drives (in removable enclosures).
In a Win XP system install you have to set AHCI in Bios prior to installing the operating system and have to install some special drivers.
Is the procedure for Win 7 similar or is it simpler in Win 7? That is, do you have to have some additional drivers that are not included on the Win 7 install disk? Do you just set the ACHI in Bios and then the install procedure automatically does the proper drivers, etc.?
To remove a SATA hard drive, is there an icon in the task bar (similar to when you want to remove a USB device) to select or do you have to go to the Device Manager to select and disable and remove the device? Or what procedure is required?
