Just got mine today and won't bore you all with my opinions ,,,,,,,yet.lol

But can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a cover for the rear screen. it looks like a clip on is out of the question...... but i have always had a cover on my other cams.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is Boxwave and Zagg. The Zagg has a textured look to it so you may not be able to assess sharpness of images, plus my recent experience is that Zagg is having trouble with shipping. I have not gotten an order that is correct in two recent tries. Some people may try to tell you that a cover is not necessary, but despite taking good care of my cameras, I managed to scratch two LCD screens.

The built-in protector is tempered glass, you don't need to protect the protector.

I've never put a cover or case on anything I have - camera, cell phone, whatever.

A friend of mine put a camera armor rubber thing on his xsi and it had a screen protector. It didn't fit the greatest and ended up scratching his screen.

I've never badly wrecked any gadget and I use my stuff, I don't look at how pretty it is.
Just my opinion on protection accessories.

You'll find that you don't need the screen, but you can't go wrong with protecting it. It's a 1700 USD camera after all.

Personally I wouldn't put a glass protector on top of another piece of glass. What do you think is going to happen if the glass protector takes a hit? It's going to crack and likely scratch what it's supposed to protect.

I wasn't going to put anything on the LCD, but I got a generic clear vinyl protector and cut it to size. Way cheaper than the glass protectors as well as the pre-sized vinyl protectors.
