My first Pentax 645D hands-on image (Full-size image link included!)

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I last posted here. I've been extremely busy with work and family for the past few months so I haven't been taking pictures as much as I had wanted to. In fact today I was on a business trip in Shanghai and will stay the whole weekend here. But I was privileged to participate a Pentax 645D unboxing/hands-on party here in Shanghai during which two brand-new 645Ds that were just brought back from Japan were opened and used for the first time.

The weather is not good so we spent most of the time inside a restaurant and here's a portrait I took with the 645D and the DFA55/2.8 standard lens. I shot in DNG RAW and converted using Adobe Lightroom 3 with only slight WB adjustment, all other settings including sharpening were left untouched. Here's the resulting JPEG file I uploaded to flickr:

Beware: it's 16.5MB at 7264x5440. Just to give you a glimpse of what the 645D can do. ISO 200, f/3.5, 1/100s, handheld.

Note: The 645Ds we used today were not mine. I have to resist the temptation and starting today it will be a tougher thing to do...

More to come,
