Photoshop Help, please

I want to create an action to re-size and frame my image and then save it to a folder for subsequent uploading to my web galleries. I will use this action in a batch job to process all images in a given folder.

I can do everything needed except the re-sizing. I want the size to be 1200 x 800 pixels. And by that, I mean the longest side to be 1200 and the shortest side to be 800 (I always work in 3:2 format)

When I do it 'manually', it is easy because I can enter '1200' in the appropriate dimension (width or height) . But for automating it, how do I pass the instruction "make the longest side=1200 pixels" so that both 'landscape' and 'portrait' formats are re-sized properly?

I hope there is a way.
Thank you
