Question about Epson 3880
I have just gotten an Epson 3880. I am new to digital printing although I have been involved with photography for 40 years (yes, I pronounce ISO "a ess a"). I noticed when printing the printer evaluation image from Outback Photo on matte paper that the gradient from red to black looks fairly grainy. Is this an artifact of the Matte Black (MK) ink? It does not appear to happen on glossy paper. It looks like the lighter blacks are not being used in the transition with the matte but they are for the glossy. Am I doing something wrong? I do like the look of that (deep breath) "Ultra Premium Presentation Paper Matte".
