Unless I'm trying to be extraordinarily sneaky or just don't have time (images are of the moment), I also use a hood indoors, at least for all available light shooting. Ambient light indoors can be hostile more often than you think. With flash, I feel less the need to use a hood since I'm to the extent possible controlling the lighting rules. And for those of us who've generally given up filters except for polarizers, the hood is a bit of lens protection as well.
