Interesting take by DPR

No big deal made about the IQ or features like the sweep panorama or auto HDR with 4 full stops on 3 images.

There big complaints seem to be tilted to the fact that it can't be manually controlled like a DSLR.

News flash to everyone - the majority of DSLR users put the camera on auto and shoot JPEG - that is who this camera is geared for.

For those "auto" people it seems to offer absolutely superior IQ and options such as the HDR and sweep panorama available along with a lot of others if you are interested.

Appears to be absolutely top rate structural construction - that blurb in the DPR review about the weakness of the tripod mount is a joke. Idiotic to compare the tripod mount to a tripod mount on a full size/weight DSLR. Does not need to be that big. Like complaining about the storage in a Porsche Boxster compared to a Ford F150.

This "ain't your daddy's" SLR and is not measnt to be.

Will the marketing department be able to get the message to the right customer? Who knows - but this might become a hugely successful cult type product - but again it is not your "Daddy's DSLR" it is a new product.

Personally I really like the concept though it will not be used like a DSLR and you have to quit thinking of it like that or it won't work for you. And sorry to bring this up but to all you A700/850/900 owners (like me) this camera appears to be able to actually take better images than we can in some circumstances along with very good quality video. No it is not better than a DSLR but it sure is different and not worse either.
