I was just about to order my S85 camera and noticed different brands for memory sticks. Sony/SanDisk/Lexar/IOData. Does it matter which I purchase or go for the best deal.

Thank you very much!

In theory, there should be no difference. My 707 sees no difference between my Sony 128 MS and my two Lexar 128 MS. My Belkin MS reader, however, keeps telling my computer that the Lexars are not formatted. If I can't find a solution, I'll just load the files from the camera.

I am using Sony and Lexar 64's and 128's.
Never had a problem. I would not buy too many
unless it is a good price, there is always somewhere
selling memory sticks at a low price.

I just plug my f707 into the PC and it thinks there
is another drive. I just cut/paste into whichever file
I want the memory stick images.

talked to a lexar rep. couple of weeks ago before buying their 128mb sticks.

asked them who manufature their product and the guy said there's only one manufacturer of all memory sticks.... it's sony.

I tried the lexar chip and had several errors show up when I processed my photos. I've never had problems with my Sony Mem. chips.
