Why did Olympus stop making the excellent C-8080?

I bought my C-8080 when they were new, and bar a few misses it was an excellent camera, and mine still is!

What the C-8080 totally lacked, except not having quite as much pixels as the E-P1 (quite good for its day, though), was good ISO preformance, and any way of cleaning the sensor. It also suffered firmware breakdown, and nobody told me that you could upgrade it yourself!

But what a nice camera for indoor/flash use! Not quite a point and shoot, but one that award both macro, and studio, work!

I don't understand why Olympus didn't continue with an updated C-8080, with some of the features that now is standard: IS, sensor cleaning, a better performance sensor, and a better EVF (like the PEN 2's ?!) and bigger display. Manual zoom, and ditto focus, would have been nice as well - but not essential.
