I understand...

Of course you can use live view without IS -- Just turn it off on the lens.

But in that case, I would use a tripod. Hope it works out for you. You are in uncharted territory for me now.

Thanks, I will try it in the next days. I don't have micro-adjust, so I can't match the AF to the Liveview results if there is a difference. I hope I can use contrast-AF without the IS, because IS seems to give slightly worse image quality in the corners.
