I wear glasses and I would probably choose to use the LCD as well, but when the camera works in "Live View" mode it takes a lot of time (few seconds) to focus, and it produces strange noises when it does so. With the viewfinder usually focus is instantaneous and the focus motor is busy only for a fraction of a second.

However, even if the 550D has an amazing LCD screen, the image that I get thru the viewfinder looks more "real" to me.

If one constantly use the LCD, do you think it can shorten the life of the
sensor?? but how come in the sensor in compacts, it is always on and
no problem with image degradation or heat?
